Blaise Pascal was a French physicist, mathematician, philosopher and theologian. In honor of his scientific contributions, the name Pascal was given to the SI unit of pressure, a programming language, to Pascal’s law (an important principle of hydrostatic), and Pascal’s triangle. In the literature, he’s considered one of the most important authors of the French classical period and is read today as one of the greatest masters of French prose. His use of satire and humor influenced later polemicists.
